What is a virtual conference

A virtual conference isn’t a webinar or online training - it is an immersive opportunity which delivers the conference experience; including engaging keynote presentations, topical content, industry presentations, and networking opportunities.

Virtual conferences offer the same learning, knowledge sharing, and networking opportunities as a regular conference you may have attended, with the key advantage of using an online platform connecting geographically dispersed attendees.

How much is the Congress?

Member - $535.00

Member Student - $290.00

Non-Member - $710.00

Non-Member Student - $365.00

All rates above are in Australian dollars (AUD$) and are inclusive of the goods and services tax (GST).

Do I have to register for the full Congress if I only want to watch a few talks?

Yes, there are no day or session registrations.

However, sessions will be available on-demand for up to 90 days post Congress. It's all included in your registration.

What's included in my registration?

Registration includes access to all live-streamed sessions, access to sponsors and exhibitors, networking opportunities including a social event, and recordings on-demand for 90 days.

Can a registration be shared with more than one person from the same organisation?

Registration at ADC 2021 is per person, and shared passes are not permitted.

Do abstract speakers have to register and pay for the conference?

Yes, all accepted ePoster and Oral presenters need to register for the Congress.

What are the methods of payments?

Registrations can be paid by electronic funds transfer or credit card only. After Friday, 14 July 2021, midnight AEST, only payments made by credit card will be accepted. A registration is considered complete when full payment is received by the Congress Organiser

What is the cancellation and refund policy?

Cancellations received in writing to the Congress Office on or before 14 July 2021 will be accepted and all fees refunded less an administrative fee of AUD $150.

Cancellations received after this date cannot be accepted and will not be refunded (in part or full).

Will there be any recordings available?

All sessions and recordings will be available on-demand for 90 dayss.

Do I need to download any special software?

The conference is viewable on most common internet browsers that you use regularly.

No additional software is required to access the Congress, and you are not required to download any videoconferencing software. All the streamed sessions will be browser-based.

I did not receive an SMS or email verification code.

  1. First, make sure you are registered for the event, if you’re not registered you can do so here.
  2. Check your spam/junk folder for the email confirmation.
  3. Click the link to enter the virtual hub, enter your details and click NEXT. If you don’t receive a code via email or text, then click “I did not received my verification code” or contact adc@thinkbusinessevents.com.au

Why did I get logged out?

For privacy reasons, your login only stays valid for 72 hours. You will also be logged out after 24 hours of inactivity. You will need to request a new verification code once expired. If for any reason you are having difficulty logging back in, please contact adc@thinkbusinessevents.com.au

Can I log in on more than one device at the same time?

No, your access code is unique and is single use. If you log-in on a new device, you will need to log-out of the first device and request a new verification code.

When I leave the session room, I can no longer hear the speaker.

Your session experience is designed to be immersive. Just like an in-person session, if you leave the room you can’t hear the speaker! If you navigate to another event page, your session will stop. Simply click back into the session to return to the livestream.

How do I ensure the best video experience?

Just like any livestream, there are things you can do to ensure the best viewing experience. Make sure you have a strong internet connection. It also helps to close non-essential tabs in your browser. If you do experience buffering or your video freezes, reload the session page before contacting the Help Desk.

Why am I experiencing audio/visual delays?

Check your bandwidth speed to make sure you are not having issues with your connectivity.  Logging out and logging back in and disconnecting from the VPN have also been found to help in this instance.  If all else fails, sign on to the session from a different device.

Is this session being recorded and will it be shared later?

Yes, pending the presenter’s approval, the recording will be available in Virtual Platform a few hours after the broadcast has concluded.

What is the difference between ’on-demand’ and ‘live’ content?

Live content includes sessions or presentations that are being live-streamed and are playing in real-time. When you log-in to the Virtual Attendee Hub on the actual day of the Congress you will be watching ‘Live’. Content becomes ‘on-demand’ once the Congress is no longer live. The live sessions will be recorded (pending speaker approval) and will be uploaded onto the Virtual Attendee Hub once the Congress is no longer ‘live’ so that it can be watched or re-watched at your leisure for up to 3 months.

Which browser should I be using to access the Virtual Attendee Hub?

The Virtual Platform runs best on Google Chrome, if you are using a different web browser we recommend you switch, however it is also compatible with the latest versions of Firefox, Safari, and Microsoft Edge.  If you’re still experiencing the error, refresh your web-page, clear your cache and cookies, or try going into incognito mode.

How do I use the chat?

When you are watching a session, navigate to the menu on the right-hand side and select ‘chat’ (logo below), then enter your message into the box.

How do I participate in the Q&A?

When you are watching a session, navigate to the menu on the right-hand side and select ‘Q&A’ (logo below), then enter your question into the box.

How do I answer a poll?

When you are watching a session, navigate to the menu on the right-hand side and select ‘Polls’ (logo below), then select your response from the options available. Polls will only be available when made live by the session moderator.

Why am I unable to ask or post questions?

Check to make sure you are not seeing any error messages on the page and reload the page.  If the issue persists, take a screen shot and share with adc@thinkbusinessevents.com.au

How do I connect with other attendees at the Congress?

Connect at any time with any attendees or exhibitors by visiting the Meeting Hub and request a connection. Once connected you can exchange details via text or arrange a one-on-one meeting. Meeting Hub can also be used to send questions to the speakers who have presented in concurrent streams.
